A workflow refined over hundreds of faces.
Most restoration tools hand your photograph to a generic model and hope for the best. What comes back is often a face — smoother, younger, prettier — but not your face. A grandmother's nose narrows. A child's eyes close. A car appears in a background that never had one. The photo looks nicer and means less.
Remnisce runs a multi-pass workflow I tuned by hand, one failure at a time. The first pass lifts the yellowing, the fading and the grain while being explicitly forbidden to invent anything that isn't already in the scan. The second pass locks identity back down: real facial regions from your original are measured, colour-matched and re-seated over the restored image, so expressions, eye state and bone structure stay exactly as they were the day the shutter clicked.
That restraint is the whole point. You should be able to look at the result and recognise the person, not an AI's idea of them.
